Name one thing that could possibly make stocks go down

Selling.

For the sake of trading, I don't really care if Greenspan has managed to reinflate this mess or if the bulls are back or not, they very well may be. But there's GOOD money to be made on both sides and the dung is overbought BIGTIME! Its almost poot time. In a week or so it'll be call time. BRCM will see $100 again before it sees $200 (If it ever does).

KIS, much as I hate to admit, it, I think you're right, at least untill the next FOMC meeting. The chart huggers are gonna be absolutely besides themselves with today's sticks, especially on the 'Dung, NDX, SOXX and other tech related subindices. The BKX still looks weak as do the brokers, and that tech money's gonna have to come out of somewhere, so the defensive stuff should get whacked, the deep cyclicals whacked, financials whacked (plus they still have lots of bad news ahead), and we'll get a rerun of last January and February (although to a MUCH lesser degree, remember, 3 trillion went to money heaven and it ain't coming back).

Probably a good environment to at least have some protective calls on trash and daytrade or swing trade the tech subindices. Short banks and brokers, drugs, chemicals and paper. The move in retailers is bizarre, maybe take a crack at them short-wise as well.

NFW do we reach even 4000 on the 'Dung this year, though...you can take THAT to the bank! If this rally survives into February (and I doubt it will), then we get a few weeks before people have to get the tax nut together. Not easy when you're net worth is tied up in overpriced 120% mortgages and margin debt.

Regards,

Patron

KIS:

LOL!!

<Turn off your brain and just hit the buy button.>

Yes indeed. Join the crowd. And you are right, as it will continue to rally violently,..................... until it doesn't. (g)

Me, I'll just sit patiently here in the weeds, a bit poorer for some small bets on Tuesday, but as patient as a spider who spots an errant fly buzzing his way. The downside of this runaway bus is going to be spectacular and I intend to be there to enjoy it.

Best, Earlie
