shawnwolff, "Finding a strategy that works for you."

I know a few traders that are way better than average picking bottoms. When I tried to emulate them I usually
just got my head handed to me, especially because I wasn't using stops at that time. I wanted to do something that just wasn't for me and I had a hard time giving it up. Not even contemplating stocks unless the 200 day mov.
avg. is higher than thirty days ago keeps me from even looking at those stocks. Kind of forced withdrawal I guess.

I can't pick tops either!! After fighting with them for a long time I now sell half when I think the stock has gone as far as it can. I usually widen my stop on what remains. Some stocks go a lot farther than I ever thought. For that I give up a little more than I normally would. IMHO there is no such thing as "The Perfect Trade". At least I'm no longer looking for it.

Sometimes taking out what is hurting you is as good or better than finding something new that helps you.
