It is a pretty poor argument to say that a company's core biz is slowing by pointing out that it is branching into other areas via aquisitions, etc...

Ask yourself where Intel would be if it had stayed with memory chips and never went any further...

Slowing growth in their core business (memory) is exactly why they began focusing on microprocessors.

I think their point is that in a flash TXN stole 30% of the cable modem biz...or so they say.

The point about branching out has merit too...like I said before, if the BRoadCum'z engineers where that "brilliant" why would they need anyone else?????????? 300-400 chip engineers and you need more to make a little $20 video encoder???? I questioned that before but when they sucked up VisionTech that sealed the deal for me == just another chip company.

fwiw, A few days ago I wanted to buy another chip company, a value play, a solid company, a good chart....I chose AMD.
