M swats you in the face around 7AM if you don't get up and feed him. It doesn't matter that he may have food in his bowl. This morning my husband ignored him so he swatted me on the nose. I told him to go away. It's not just Ashcroft, all of the Bush league team is soft peddling their views. So far their actions are farther to the right than expected, but they talk the compassion part. I saw tapes of Gail Norton b4 the committee last night. At the beginning, I thought she was going to sing, "America the Beautiful.l." From what I heard she didn't mention her "self-audit" agenda or the fact that she wants to drill for oil in that area of Alaska that is a wilderness. When you hear what these nominees say compared to what they have done in the past, it is difficult to take them seriously. The Republicans said Ashcroft has integrity. I saw Judge Ronnie White on tv last night. I'd say he has integrity. He refused to get into his personal dispute with Ashcrof even though he believed that he had been unfairly treated. After what Ashcroft and the Republican Senate rejected his nomination, Judge White refused to say that what his position was on Ashcroft's confirmation. Now, I call that integrity.
