"Nortel is going to execute well and win business. I buy that," said Sagawa. "I do not buy that the (overall) market is going to accelerate in the back half of the year."

I guess he is not totally negative. Maybe it is his way of saying he messed up.<g>

Even if overall spending does not go up much, it is being pushed into optical; any CEO will tell him that.

However, his own people seem to be disagree with him on the telco environment. According to the guest host on CNBC, Sagawa's firm recently issued a positive report on spending for telcos(might have been a strategist at Sanford Bernstein).

I wonder if it is time to fire someone.<g>
Maybe Lucent is hiring.<g>

OK... if we buy the second part of this why is he positive on LU? If we believe Sagawa in that LU will be successful then by using Sagawa's own words "Nortel is going to execute well and win business. NT will do even better. So, which is it? He's such a bonehead.
