DJ> Fermat's Gasp Theorem

so...if I follow your logic correctly ~ the future determines the past ?

(^_^)

>Given the present moment as a coordinate in t and the thing happening ... being something of a normal occurence ... then we can assume that the time now is somewhere between -sigma and +sigma for "such things" ... this ... will go on for at least between 1/2 to twice as long as it took so far.

sometimes, professor ~ your posts resemble passages from Whitehead's Process and Reality :-)

_so like, I'm on this EBAY thing ~ one eye on the teevee ticker, watching the stocks go up and down ~ trying to get a good deal on a Snap-On torque wrench and a Leica motor-drive and a signed, first edition copy of William Gibson's Neuromancer, right? then >POOF!< lights go out, teevee implodes to a dot anomaly and the central heating fan stops (eerie silence). The cat runs out the cat-door, thinking we're having another earthquake or something. My last entry now lost in cyberspace; my torque wrench and motor-drive and cyberpunk book... gone. bummer.

no more broadband, digital cable or DSL, baby ~ we're back on battery-operated laptops with internal 56K modems through POTS lines, Dude.
