>> First Transactions Through the New Mobile Transmission Standard GPRS Conducted

Helsinki, Finland
Business Wire
Jan. 18, 2001

From now on, mobile payment is possible in GPRS as well as in GSM networks.

This week, More Magic Software demonstrated in Helsinki the payment of goods using a GPRS enabled mobile phone and the GPRS service of Finland's biggest mobile operator, Sonera. The whole transaction was found to be completely transparent to the customer and did not require any changes in the MBroker software. This proves that the mobile transaction platform from More Magic is truly ready for the future. Other transmission standards such as UMTS are supported as well and will be tested as they become available.

All around the world, mobile operators and m-commerce companies are looking for ways to turn their investments into new business models. MBroker from More Magic Software enables real-time m-commerce and provides an easy, secure way to conduct mobile transactions using any terminal device. The successful MBroker test in Sonera's GPRS network validates the modular approach More Magic has taken in its product design. Harri Poyhonen, Director of Research and Development at More Magic, is highly satisfied with the results of the test: "To fully leverage the business potential of GPRS, flexible billing methods are essential. Now that it has been established that MBroker conducts transactions flawlessly through GPRS networks, mobile operators can rest assured that their investment will be valid in the future."
