Paul Senior--good points on Xerox, which I do not disagree with. I only wanted to emphasize the problems that often occur when executives get too far away from the actual day-to-day problems on the manufacturing and sales end. A lot of my information on Xerox comes from a retiree who had a major responsibility for the design and manufacture of the original 913 copier. The main point, I think, is that getting too far afield, both in terms of physical distance and in terms of the products you make and sell, can create a lot of problems. Art
