Now, now, Tim. Let's be precise about this. I would add to your statement but no one and I mean no one wants it or needs it ...at the current price. G* along would not be able to handle all my needs if they priced it low enough - as I could resell all the minutes the system could handle. I know I'd sign up for a flat 0.20 if I did not have that 'extras charges apply' hanging over all my calls. (I checked Sprint PCS 'deals' for my area. 0.10/ minute up to plan, 0.35 after. LD in-state add 0.15, nationwide add 0.25. Roam add 0.39 and 0.69 in and out of service areas. You can be at 1.20 if you are in the unfortunate case of making that roaming, out of state, out of plan call. Then add on all the 'access' charges the other networks hit you with Whew!) Jeff Vayda

The marketing of G is not nor was ever supposed to be the responsibility of B. Schwartz.When I sat in his office last July he was proud of what he had accomplished by putting up all the sats and everything worked as planned in regards to the connectivity.He felt his part was done except maintaining the system.Because of VOD's lack of effort he got pissed and began a program poorly done as one would expect because this is NOT his area of expertise! All responsibility for pricing and lack of effort falls in the hands of Mr. Gent.He has let Schwartz,Jacobs,Powers,and shareholders down.Even now with G's back against the wall Gent once again told Schwartz and Jacobs to take a flying leap. All of the applications that have come along in the last 6 months are because of Q.Schwartz didn't even know some of the applications were possible until Q brought them forward.Again,Schwartz from the beginning saw himself as a builder and launcher...period. I wrote once before that on the day Q and F announced Wingcast I again spoke to Schwartz and asked why he wasn't in San Diego for the announcement and he didn't even know it was taking place and stated "We never said it could do that" meaning have the application for that system. I knew then as I do now that Schwartz did what he was supposed to do but that he was let down by his partners that he has absolutely no control over. If anyone has a beef it's with Gent!

Mika, welcome to the Globalstar world! Pull up a chair and tell us why Wacky Wireless wouldn't work. . . . . . . . . . . Timothy, when you say, "...no one and I mean no one wants it or needs it!!!" are you serious or did you just presume we would mentally add the words "...at the current prices" after your comment? All the publicity might, perversely, be great news for Globalstar. Many people will know about the service. When Globalstar is back on a financially sound basis, with cheap minutes for sale, after the Blackstone carve up, and prospective customers don't worry that it's going bust next week, a lot of advertising will have been done via the gloom and doom brigade. That's great news. Thanks WSJ and co. It will also be great fun to watch the doomsters eat their words. Here is the Daily Rant and reply to your comment Timothy. It's quite fun pointing out the mistakes, misunderstandings and ignorance of the 'pile on' crowd.
