Flats, Let me set the record straight. I do not believe nor did I ever intend to imply that hedonics caused the credit bubble. I do believe that hedonics overstates real growth and productivity and as a result creates the impression that irrational valuations are more warranted than would be the case otherwise. We can debate the motives to implement hedonics it is not worth the time. I am more concerned about its distortion of the economic data. mike
