Scott,

Ah... so thats the reason for your latest absence from there.. first it was against the principle of a thread having a moderator.. now its because all of us tech geeks are in there .. :)

I never thought of you as a techie geek; maybe a political junkie but not a geek. ;~))

Seriously.. I think its still an investor thread... I think tech developments and discusison of that meshes with the investment side of it....keeps the investor informed etc on what AMD is doing.. the 2 can co-exist.. you shouldnt be so inflexible Ted;).Come back and contribute sometime.

Its not that I am inflexible; when you post over time and get no response, there is little use to the process. Either what I had to say was of little consequence or was of little interest to most posters, or both. Add that to having to read the mod thread which is very time consuming and where the same technical aspect of a chip can be discussed in estraordinary detail, and to my own time constraints, something had to give.

It cant be any worse then hanging out in this thread with a max of 1 to 2 messages a day.. (except when the Rambus trolls come in here and stir things up.)

You assume that my life is the threads. ;`)) It isn't....to be honest if we aren't going to talk about investment issues, I rather talk about esoteric ones on this thread than anything else...I only get so much mileage from talking about megahertz or how many branches on a pipeline. <g>

Scott,

Speaking of esoteric issues, a US commission is investigating the problems that developed with the voting process in FLA. A part of that investigation required that they interview K. Harris who btw was co-chair of Bush's campaign in FLA [I hadn't realized she was an official member of the campaign].

During the interview, Harris repeatedly referred questions asked of her to one of her subordinates. When the questionnaire said she wanted to hear her [Harris's] responses, not her subordinate's, Harris answered by saying that she delegates responsibilities and consequently does not know the particulars re those responsibilities. Clearly frustrated, the questioner was disgusted with her lack of awareness or interest in the position she holds in FLA.

I only tell you this because its very possible that Ms Harris could be the next ambassador to Paris.....or Ottawa. Four years.......such a long time......and it feels like 4 already.

From the campaign to re-elect Al Gore!
