Dolfan, RE: Bell Labs are some major innovators and scientist. It seems they may come out with some revolutionary developments and thus send LU to the top again. If only we can turn these inventions into sales which has been a big problem then we can revive like IBM did a few years ago! It's all about execution! Note that another company with some major innovators and scientists, Xerox (PARC), didn't do so well executing, either. In world of Wall Street, scientists are pretty useless unless they are matched or even exceeded by marketers. As a lifelong nerd, it took me a very long time to accept that. Once I did, it helped my portfolio decisions tremendously.
