But it brightened this dreary New England day to see the news item about that fool this morning, that's for sure.

Hey, Dennis. Cut the Rev some slack. After all, he is a man of God. <vbg>

I am fascinated to learn that about Mitterand.

I didn't know that, but he was the first person I thought of in connection with this latest so-called scandal.

Did you know that in October, 1959, Mitterand staged a fake assassination attempt and had a taxicab machine gunned outside the Luxemberg Gardens (he had climbed the fnece and was lying on the ground? Leaked in advance to three journalists, the expose of "l'affaire Mitterand" seemed to put an end to his career when he was about 40 years old. He was trying to discredit the French pro-Algerie Francaise fascists.

Then everyone just forgot all about it after a while.

Dennis, I don't care as much about what they do as I detest the holier than thou attitude they lay on the rest of us poor sinners. Jimmy Swaggart was the all time worst, telling people they were going to Hell for going to Disneyland while he was picking up roadside hookers. But, to be fair, you had to be of his religion to care what he had to say, and the same is not true of the DC crowd.
