NYSE short interest falls to 4.73 billion shares

NEW YORK, Jan 19 (Reuters) - Short interest on the New York Stock Exchange, the world's largest equity market, fell to 4.73 billion shares in the month ended January 12, the Big Board said on Friday.

This was a drop of 147.3 million shares from its level of 4.88 billion in the previous month
