But Donald Trott, specialty retail analyst for Jefferies & Company, said the declines in profit and sales growth distracted from Home Depot's dim overall growth prospects, even if the economy bounces back. He predicts Home Depot will have saturated the United States and Canada by late 2003 with 2,200 to 2,300 of its flagship stores.

I think about 2,000 of those stores are in the Philly area alone. As Fleckenstein would say, investors are starting to connect the dots. Keep blaming it on lumber prices, HD. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Michael, i sold calls on my swc and it will get called @ 35 bucks. so with the proceeds i was thinking of :

a) waiting for swc to dip below 35 to buy back
b) forgetting swc and adding more asa and tucking it away
c) buying anglo gold or newmont and selling otm calls on it until i get the stock called away...

any suggestions on the above ?
