With Girl Scouts a certain number of parents from a troop must accompany girls to camporee, and to any other overnight type situation- and on trips to international girl scout facilities. I believe at the actual girl scout camps senior girls work as camp leaders- and the staff is hired by girl scouts- they run a background check on all parents and employees who sign up to work with the girls- if you haven't done the paper work you cannot work with the girls. They are very strict. I really like that.
