Oh Please Steve.. she arbitrarily cut off recounts.. she made sure there was no chance that any of those lost Democtatic votes would ever see the light of day.. the only reason she was able to get away with it was that the US Supreme Court conservative Ideologues rescued her when they decided in this particular instance.. a federal court SHOULD decide to mess in state affairs... showing that Republicans can be just as good as others at ignoring their own principles when it involves power and politics.

As for Alaska.. yes.. you do own it.. but as I recall ..you'll probably have to run the pipeline thru Canada to get it your way. Or.. you may also have to sail supertankers thru Canadian waters to reach it which means any potential oil spill that happens from another potential Exxon Valdez disaster or anything your oil barons do to cause pollution in the arctic otherwise.. directly affects us because we're next door to you, and the Arctic is a very sensitive ecological system... plus the caribou herds that the Inuit (you guys call them Eskimos) in both of our area hunt migrate back and forth in that area.. so.. pardon us if we dont take an interest in what you do up there.. and serious concerns..

Your own Inuit tribe in that region has indicated strong opposition to it.. they'll get plenty of sympathy from a lot of people in Canada.

Did you know that the main caribou herd up there that the Inuit hunt for food and furs has declined about 80% in population over the last few years? Some of that has to do with the 1st Alaska pipeline up there.. wrecking migration patterns if I recall correctly... there wont be much appetite to put a 2nd pipeline thru our territory if indeed thats the plan.

Anyhow.. it probably wont come to that - I believe that there will be strong enough public opposition in the US and the Congress that this little scheme gets nowhere..

Out of all the people Bush has nominated for Cabinet.. Gale Norton is the one that concerns me the most.. because whatever she decides to do will potentially affect us in Canada as well. That she lists James Watt as a soulmate scares me the most - he of the line that cow paddies and trees caused acid rain.. yeesh.

Steveie Blunder - Re:"We are going to start drilling for oil and gas because the last time I checked the US owned Alaska, not Canada."

During the election Shrub Bush said that we needed more domestic oil so we should drill in MEXICO.

It was a great surprise to the Mexicans.
