Dude shore knows how to pick 'em!!<G> quote.bloomberg.com Goldman Sachs analyst Jonathan Raleigh has kept the firm's highest rating on PG&E Corp. and Edison International even as the owners of California's two largest electric utilities have defaulted on debt and depleted their cash. Raleigh put Edison and two other utilities on the ``recommended list'' on Sept. 12 after sifting though dozens of companies and presenting his ideas to the firm's stock selection committee, which includes Greg Ostroff, head of global research. Two weeks later he added PG&E, which had been rated ``market perform.'' ``Raleigh's in a difficult position,'' said Henry Cavanna, who manages about $7 billion at J.P. Morgan Fleming Asset Management. ``He recommended the stocks and they have done really poorly.'' PG&E has fallen 61 percent and Edison has dropped 64 percent since Raleigh put them on the top-pick list, which contains about 310 companies. Shares of both companies slipped below $10 this week, with PG&E falling 11 percent and Edison losing 12 percent. HO HO HO! Got dartboards (or pigeon droppings on the IBD stock listings?)
