Diamond,
re: "always knew there was a bit of a rivalry between Florida & California but I never knew you all were so jealous."

Let me list the things I'm jealous of:

1. High local sales taxes
2. Rolling black outs
3. Ridiculous cost of housing
4. Traffic gridlock
5. Huge property taxes
6. State income tax
7. Number one in wacko's as a percentage of population (though Florida may be number 2)
8. Earthquakes (OK we have hurricanes)
9. Areas where the air pollution is so bad it burns your eyes
10. High gasoline prices

The American dream, California...

re: "always knew there was a bit of a rivalry between Florida & California"

Not that I was aware of.

I'm just wondering how those folks could think that they could legislate low energy prices to end users when the cost to the utilities was variable? And not invest in infrastructure? I guess they just decided they didn't want to pay more, and let the stock and bond holders of the utilities foot the bill. Now that a bit of reality has set in in the La La state, I'm guessing that I'll have another thing to be jealous of: 11. The highest utility bills in the country.
