We gotta get those utilities off the dime:

``SMES revenues for the quarter were at the low-end of our targeted range due primarily to delays in closing orders with certain utility customers,'' said Greg Yurek, American Superconductor's chief executive officer. ``We believe the D-SMES solution we are jointly marketing with GE to U.S. utilities is the quickest, most effective and lowest cost way for utilities to improve the reliability and power flows in their grids. However, some utilities have demonstrated a reluctance to invest in additional transmission assets during this time of rapid change in the power industry. In some cases, utilities simply have not budgeted for making improvements to their grids for the summer of 2001 even though many are now recognizing they need a solution quickly.''

Yurek added that the company is exploring new financing and leasing programs as a means to provide financial flexibility to utilities to enable them to realize the benefits of D-SMES in the summer of 2001 without impacting their capital budgets. ``The demand by power users for more power that is also more reliable is quite clear,'' said Yurek. ``We believe we will be able to leverage this demand into increased D-SMES sales by making new financing options available to utilities in the near term. Over the next year, we believe new financing options plus our joint marketing efforts with GE will pay off in terms of steady revenue growth, not only in the U.S., but also worldwide.''

I probably made 2,000 trades since Jan 1999. If I make 200 in the next 2 years, I'll be surprised
