In Collier, Bush gained 2-1, which makes sense because Bush won FL's highest income county by about the same ratio. ....A Daily News review of nearly 2,100 uncounted presidential ballots in Collier shows that George W. Bush — who today will be sworn in as president — could have increased his local victory over Gore by 226 votes if a hand recount was undertaken. That's nearly half of Bush's winning margin in the entire state. Assuming that all dimples, pin pricks, chads and other obvious ballot markings would have counted — a subjective standard — Bush gained another 770 votes in Collier County. Gore would have gained an additional 544 votes. In a county where Bush trounced Gore by collecting more than twice as many votes in November, the results of this week's ballot review were hardly surprising. None that I have seen. Been doing my own spread sheet as they come. So far I have Gore Bush Collier 226 Lake 130 M-Dade 6-100 Net Gain Total 102 - 196 Any updates ?

Dear The Street: None that I know of however, I think the Miami Herald announced they were going to release eventually a state wide result once all the counties are completed. It wont matter though, once its proven Bush won even those counts the arguement will be but what about those people disenfranchised FOR WHATEVER REASON you wish to fill in there. OF COURSE no one EVER talks about the estimated 1,000's if not 10's of 1,000's of votes he lost in the Panhandle due to early call of the election. JDN
