russ, good posts. However, I would feel a lot more comfortable for a bottom if we had massive capitulation in the PMs, gold to $200-240. Without capitulation, we may need to grind out consolidation for some time more? I see anticipation for better days with metal stock accumulation, but maybe it's as premature as other recent false starts?

I agree with your assessment. Claude just sent me something saying that the shorts increased positions before the last explosive spike for Au over 300 in Sept 99... Let's see what happens in Feb. My gut tells me we may not see any action until May or Oct.
