combjelly,

Tualatin is a big question, why was Almador(sp?) delayed and/or Timna'd?

There were some rumors of Tualatin FSB being either 200 MHz or 100 MHz DDR, and Almador would be the chipset for it. Since then, it seems that GSB will remain 133 MHz SDR, Almador was canceled in favor of a tweak of 815 chipset.

I guess Intel recognizes that Piii line is basically dead meat, and put the A team on the Brookdale project, and other project of higher strategic importance.

Joe

But, it probably accurately reflects the market from each companies perspective. Intel is just hitting their biggest rough patch in decades, AMD sees nothing but smooth, clear road.

Comb,

That's the problem....Sanders sees a smooth, clear road and most people will tell you it looks like anything but. As late as November, he and AMD were saying that AMD would make its quarter easily. So if the road is so clear, why was he wrong and why were AMD's revenues this quarter flat sequentially?

Sanders is a typical entrepreneur....forever optimistic. Unfortunately, he has overshot the mark the last 3 quarters.

Its my prediction the first half will be tough for both AMD and Intel....so you might want to fasten your seat belts.
