Which ever way Samsung goes, one fact remains:

The equipment sector rally began 6 weeks ago.

5 weeks before Samsung AND 5 weeks before Intel.

A large number of investors we're clearly not dependent upon capex numbers for their determination of the prospects for this industry.

My only wish is that this cycle of bad news continues (Samsung, CA power, more downgrades in outlooks): such news is undiluted fodder for a continued rally. In fact, the news seems to be getting worse...which not only bodes extremely well for the sustainability of the surge, but puts off even further the optimism-driven blow-off and subsequent sector decline (which only happens when things start 'making sense' to individual investors)
