hi Poet,

given the recent events and malicious and/or with the intent to provoke fights posts by some, i have made a renewed proposal to myself to simply ignore those posts that i would consider a waste of my efforts to even read.

i recognize that sometimes, it requires a small extra effort, (at least by me), to simply click next on those posts that are a waste.

for me it seems to be working as i find myself reading more and more real content as opposed to wasting time and even getting upset about the entire thing.

just my .02 cents.

btw... in searching for an open website with quotations on LEAPS that would include DELTA i found this that made me think of you: (it is obvious why -g-)

pacificex.com

actually...it appears it could be advantageous to have such technology. --i don't know really since i have not research the site fully--. (the name just caught my attention.)

I also found this article about the fight between the CBOE and CBOT... the reason i follow this is because i am waiting for the time when option quotes in all markets will be linked as stock quotes are. while, it is not clear if this case affects such linkage, it is good to know what the exchanges are up to.

next find a broker that will automatically route your order to the best market (in options). on this, i think cybercorp (owned by schwab) already does it.

here are the news on the CBOT/CBOE

news.ft.com

i was going to post this at the Option Box, but i am already here so...

RE:Frankly, I doubt it. And I challenge you to get off your feathered ass and provide some before I put you on ignore.

Not at my fingertips, but I did see that in a documentary once on public television. I'll see what I can find.

RE: hang out here, asking simplistic questions, then calling those who respond to you names like "condescending".

Your portrayal of me as asking simplistic questions is somewhat condescending, don't you think? When someone asks if they need to put their answer in "baby talk" for me to understand, wouldn't you consider that condescending, too?

RE:I cannot figure out if you actually believe statements like the one you made here or are deliberately trying to provoke

This is the "no gloves" thread, isn't it, so if I am provoking here, what's wrong with that? I know you can't handle that kind of stuff on the LWP, but it's supposed to be different here. I would like to remind you that it was you who started the personal attacks on me after I asked a question about liberals in general and cited the Kennedys as an example. Your response was to tell me I was talking out of my rear end with no rational argument opposing my position, then you barred me from the thread. So, as far as I am concerned, you have no moral high ground to stand upon.

Have a nice inaugural day.
Clinton out, Bush in :-)

OK, this does not prove my previous statement, but at least helps to point out the extent to which male rape takes place. Since most rapes are not reported, we might never know the true numbers. This is taken from an interview of a sexual assault expert:

Points to note:

The FBI does not track male rape.
Estimated that 10% of prisoners are raped. Out of 1.8 million, that would be 180,000 males. Many of whom are subjected to repeated rapes.
So, even though I can't prove my previous statement and in fact, I am willing to admit, it may be wrong (I guess you shouldn't believe everything you see on TV), I will assert that male rape is much more widespread than is commonly known.
Also, as a personal anecdote, though I was never actually assaulted, I was sexually harassed by homosexual men as a teenager.

Dr. McEvoy:

The FBI Uniform Crime Reports places the number of REPORTED instances of female rape in excess of 80,000 each year. Estimates are that the true number is much, much higher. The FBI does not track male rapes. Moreover, correction officials are not required to track the number of male rapes that occur in prisons. Also, there are approximately 1.8 million males behind bars at this time, and estimates suggest that perhaps 10% or more of male prisoners will be raped while incarcerated. Also, we know
that the equivalent of "date rape" occurs within the gay community, though we do not have reliable statistics on the true incidence. Acquaintance rape in general, regardless of whether the victim is male or female, is less likely to be reported than assault by a perpetrator who is a stranger. Yet the majority of rapes involve perpetrators and victims who are known to one another. Simply stated, we do not know the true magnitude of the problem of all forms of sexual violence, whether involving male or female victims.

Gad, I'm plowing through hundreds of posts here, and find it funny, that you and I are the most obnoxious people on SI and that I had almost the same repsonse this morning. You were much nicer about the way you put it though, as usual. Well that is until the end. <g>
