I'm not sure this is a particularly useful issue for
the type of market in which Genesis plays...

Sure it is! The strength of the value chain says everything about the extent to which a company can control its own destiny, about its ability to wield its power over the value chain to consistently offset competitors. The strength of the value chain is not a market-specific issue.
