Hello Microe,

Yes, sounds like I am confused. I thought the Superflash architecture was on a slow, step by step migration path to higher and higher low densities as process geometries shrunk.

We need to get some details on this agreement directly from the CEO at the CC. Either way, SST will be able to target a vastly expanded market with the Superflash architecture than what they are targeting now.

Best, Huey

I'm not sure I agree with you. I've heard Bing talk about focusing on low density flash but this new venture suggests that he believes SSTI can compete in the high density market.

Well, there are really two different issues here: high-density code storage & high-density mass-storage. I'm still trying to figure this out, but it sounds like SSTI is going after the high-density code-storage market aggressively. They are also going after the high-density mass-storage market, but only expect to gain a foothold soon (with their ATA controller, I think)

Between the poor quality of my audio system and Yeh's accent, I couldn't quite follow, but in this conference call, he explains why SSTI can't get a leading position in the mass-storage market in the near-term.
