Lee, i know i didnt sound like it but i actually agree with you 100% . Gov subsidies have distorted the whole thing. Get rid of the subsidies and let the price of food reflect its true cost of production. Any line of business that operates at a deficit for a prolonged amount of time has got something fundamentally wrong.

Greenspan and his cohorts have a license to print...period. It isn't directed by the administration in office. Greenspan theoretically answers to no one.

As a candidate for president GWB publicly stated his support for Greenspan and his intent to reappoint him (Red Herring article?...If you like I'll look for it.)

No TL coming out of this White House.

(I am continually amused by those Conservative/Republicans posters on SI threads who expect the printing presses will be turned off or that Greenspan will be "brought into line" somehow now that there's a new kid in town. In fact the exact oppoiste may occur.)
