That sounds like a wonderful thing to do. I have no argument with Brokaw's description...to go thru both the depression and the war, and then, perhaps the most difficult of all, to raise us, certainly qualifies them. Please express my gratitude to them; better make it sort of generic, cuz it might bum them out that they put their lives on the line just so a seedy old wharf rat could play on the internet.

I had an uncle who was at the Bulge, a close friend who liberated one of the camps. Of course, in 10 years at the VA,I met a lot of these guys. We really owe them.
Are you going to go to Normandy too?

Whitey, hi...you're back! Sounds like a fascinating trip you are going to take. My late uncle fought in the Bulge and my Dad fought in the Pacific. These were guys who graduated from college and 90 days later were in it big time. I have a change to visit some of those sites...I was with the 3rd Armored Division for six months before being levied for Vietnam. If you wore your uniform with the "Third Herd" patch, you could always get a free round at the local bars in that part of Belgium....the old guys remember Patton armored group and the other infantry regiments.

I have been on a "hands free trading methodology" since December 10th...working like a charm so far...

Great to hear from you again.

geezer groupie-

good to hear from you. sounds like a fantastic trip ahead. one warning from red... when you get to prague, look out for that green stuff made from wormwood, it'll sneak up on you and give you hallucinations. <G>

bien viaje,
