Then in November I began to bottom fish and enough of that went bad so that i ended up with a fraction of the gains i had in the late spring.

Victor,

This is what happened to me. Worse is I bought thinking we were at a bottom so I am fully invested and then some at prices about 15% higher than we are now. I would like to average down and buy more of certain firms but I do not have free cash and I will only go on margin to a point. If most of my stocks perform along with the market, I should be turning a profit again at a Nasdaq around 3200. I have no clue when we will get there.
