Eric L: Re: "I'm watching the Symbian alliance reasonably closely. I'd probably consider an investment in them if they spin out as a stand alone company. I really haven't followed Psion to closely, but they need to be looked at.

It is difficult to find a way to participate in the handheld potential. Since I enjoy experimentation, I have held Psion for some time but do not own any Palm, Handspring or Microsoft. So no basket - at least not yet.
Still watching.

EPOC seems to have the strongest long term potential (some have suggested "elegant") technologically, but only time will tell if the camel that is Symbian (of which Psion is the "brains") will turn out to be a major player and winner.

The safest way to participate in this as in other wireless may be through Qualcomm, since Qualcomm works with all of the current players (and even has Bluetooth in its chips and software).

Once again, why an examination of Qualcomm's "network" opportunities is important

Best as always.
