I agree. The pre meeting 1/2 point looked a little panicky and another would cause me to believe that there is something really bad out there that we don't know about.

I don't think that is true.

And your thoughts are probably correct. I'm not as sure about the panic part...if they survived the initial 50 bp change without too much overhead, I think they could survive another. Another way to look at it is that they probably do know more than they are letting on, and that they are just conducting sound policy. If they reduced fifty and switched to a neutral mode if would effectively shut down most speculation and reach their (probable) intended target. Anyway, I am nothing more than an interested spectator!!

By the way, I enjoy your thread. I have lurked here for over a year. You draw some interesting, well spoken viewpoints. I work during the day and because of 'policy' do not post, just don't tell 'em I'm reading!!
