>>California can slide off into the ocean for all I care.<< That could put a crimp in the NASD for a while.

H,
I agree, Bush has no obligation to bail out California. He should teach them the meaning of responsibility, as that is the compassionate thing to do. Let them pay some of their hard-earned money to show them what environmental whacko policies and socialism can do for them. What a bunch of bozos, expecting to deregulate without allowing market prices to move toward the equilibrium price. If enough of them go without electricity, and looting begins, a bunch of the fruits and nuts will be wishing they had never thought about gun control.knc

Why should Bush have to solve a problem that he had nothing to do with, and to bail out states that turned their back on him??

haqi, This is the way it usually works. The Dems jimmy things up becausee their policies are based on Emotion. They FEEL that rate payers are paying too much so they cap how much a utility can charge a customer. They FEEL strongly about saving the environment so California has not added electrical production in 10 years.
The REALITY is that there is now more demand than supply, and the utilities have carried the ratepayers as long as they can.
The Utopia-crats focus on how things ought to be, and don't really care about how things really are.

Thus, the disconnect. So to speak. <gg>
