KymarFye: You always make a good argument. I don't think manipulation is present at each and every action, but the possibility is always there.

When a discount broker fills a cheaply commissioned order at a less than available best fill, how cheap were those commissions? I know there have been investigations into this. Of course, would you get a better fill if you paid more money, I don’t know!

Similarly to the old west movies where a few pistol shots can stampede the herd sharp price movements in a stock can stampede investors bringing in the volume. A timely placed recommendation by a brokerage tout or news release can accomplish a similar response.

I have never said that every single action that goes on in the markets is rigged or preplanned. However, knowing that the game can be with little chance of the culprits seeing justice is reason enough to convince me to always "think like a criminal" when trading.

I think each individual should make up his or her own mind. I am done with this subject, hopefully!
