<I woke up with a vision of a possible GSRF recovery based on recapitalizing by selling stock to corporate customers such as Boing, Airbus, Toyota, Chrysler, GM, Ford, Embraire, etc. Have you seen any concrete analysis or even speculation on this strategy. I know that QCOM is working on some things like 1) a fleight phone system, 2) the joint company set up w/ Chrysler, 3) the use of GSTRF fot internet access.
Have you seen anything concrete on this-- such as how close it is to reality. Normally, I would expect to see existing shareholders take a total loss in such a restructuring after secured creditors throw the company into bankruptcy. Now we see an aparant willingness by debtors to accept a suspension of interest payments and debt. I am wondering whee this is headed and if the existing stock might retain value in a recapitalized company. I see that GSTRF is challenging IRIDIUM for the US Govt business.

I have no light to shed, sorry John.

But see my latest rants in Globalstar for what I think, which is that QUALCOMM will take a major position. As you suggest, there is more than one way to skin a cat and corporate customers might be interested in a shareholding. That's essentially what happened with the service providers originally [except that they didn't put up much money].

I don't think much of those things will happen this year. 2001 will be the year of voice with a little bit of data [email and stuff]. 2002 will be more interesting.

I don't believe there will be a bankruptcy and liquidation sale because bond holders and creditors will do better in a stock for debt arrangement and continuing operations. The system is very sound. The financial structure is not. Badly designed systems can't be fixed. Weak finances can.
