"Bandwidth per watt is not nearly as interesting as bandwidth, for most benchmarks"

True for a technology like DDR that does not scale to multiple channels easily. HEck it has been recalled once in single channel. Dual channel RDRAM has been available for over a year. It is now in 3 production chipsets that I know of.

So even if you can get your DDR to give you an effective rather than theoretical usage of 2.1 Gb/s, that is nothing compared to 3.2 Gb/s from dual RDRAM.

Of course, DDR does not use its bandwidth as effectively as RDRAM, so the 2.1 figure is not real anyway.
