New Strong Buy upgrade from Unterman on Loral (NYSE: LOR)
"We believe the company's FSS business drives a great
value case, as the market has not rewarded the unit with a multiple commensurate to its superior growth. The dissipating Globalstar quagmire is an additional positive, but likely to distract investors a little bit longer.
Based on our sum-of-the-parts valuation of $9, which implies roughly 100% upside, we believe Loral now warrants a Strong Buy rating. Loral was previously rated Buy."

* This confirms my understanding that LOR's satellites etc are worth twice the current market cap even after counting debts and a total write-off of Globalstar. Actually this $9 assessment is conservative. Also does not give value their Cyberstar internet in jets program now underway with Boeing. A compelling value though Globalstar will distract investors and encourage shorts, just as all negative publicity does. Othere with too much negative press lately are LU, SUNW and INTC. When bad publicity peaks that is the time to buy apparently, Just have to be patient. I bought LOR at $4 the other day after a negative press release which was actually old news.
