That is most informative. But I would think that drugs would lead to a wasted life of dependency on others.

No thanks.

Charley,

Hmmm, don't know about that first statement.

As for junkies being amusing, I have to agree. In high school I worked Saturdays for one of the smaller musical instrument dealers in Detroit. The owner was a great person, but not the best businessman. People would come and look, then come back and look, then make the deal. The variable that drove the decision to buy? Was X high on H or not. High on H and you got a very groovy price, not high on H and you paid retail. It worked both ways, and I don't know this for a fact, but he had an inventory of very, very rare instruments that were worth a great deal of money. IMO opinion these were purchased from other junkies or common crooks who had stolen them.

One busy Saturday I went looking for him. Found him orbiting the earth with drops of blood soaked through his shirtsleeve. Didn't know about AIDS then, so it was not a major concern. At least he got the needle out first. There were so many people in the store I had to close as I couldn't watch them all. He was a great player, but ended up closing shop. He was more than amusing, but I really felt sorry for him. There was no way he could stop.

Cocaine addicts can be dangerous, but its the crankhead you really have to watch out for. The good part is that crankheads burn out pretty fast. I never see these people unless I go where they are, and I seldom do that.

HAGO and enjoy the Jazz.
