"Oil men refer to the Gulf of Mexico with shorthand as Mexico" Damn! And I always thought they referred to it as the "Gulf". Guess I will listen closer next time... You are correct though, we generally take control out to the edge of the continental shelf, sometime less, sometimes more. But the line between the US and Mexico is sorta fuzzy, Mexico on occasion will extent the line somewhat northward, especially if there are shrimp boats around. And then there is Cuba...
