You might also try searching your file system to see if you have more than one copy of MFC42.DLL (frequently the case).

Open Windows Explorer, point it at the root of your 'C' drive (and 'D' and others if you have them) and try CTRL-F to bring up search.

If you have more than one version, ensure you pick out the latest, and try renaming all the rest to MFC42_OLD.DLL or something like that (so you can undo this later if you need to).
