Dave: True. Good point regarding WCDMA patents. Many patents are obtained by manipulation of the language and semantics. However, misleading a patent examiner is a great way to invoke inequitable conduct, patent invalidity etc (ie fraud on the patent office). We can only hope every WCDMA patent was intended to defraud the patent office and Examiners.

Of course, my quick survey was just a note that WCDMA has not really taken hold of a large amount of IPR.
