Read Paul DeMone's article on the EV8, it gives a very good rundown on those methods. No, they don't require re-compilation, assuming that threads were used in the first place, but the OS has to know about them. So no Windows ME...

Oops, come to think of it, the article won't say much about CMP. It stands for Chip Multi-Processing, basically SMP, but on a chip. Sledgehammer will use this, for sure. Unless they change their minds, that is.

I think that the Hammers will have some sort of multi-threading. If they don't I have a lot of trouble figuring out how AMD expects to get a 50% boost in IPC. Unless that figure is just for the SledgeHammer variant, they are not real clear on that...
