re: How do you feel about the price war? Almost all P3 systems advertised this week were under $1,000 "budget" systems. You could even get a 1GHZ PIII off the shelf at retail chains for under $1,000 if your old monitor and printer were OK.

Do you think the lower costs could be a part of the ongoing process of moving the P4 into the mainstream?

I LOVE IT !!!

Intel's Pentium 4 ramp will help maintain ASPs while Intel's P3 drops in price - and the AthWiper SINKS.

I expect Cherry Sanders to issue his next Profit Warning in mid February - and he'll claim he's been hit in the face with Dead Meat (aka the Pentium 3).
