Re: When P4 reaches 130nm, it will become Intel's high end cpu for PCs

Considering that CompUSA advertises an HP System with a 1GHZ PIII, including monitor and printer, for $1,149 after rebates, I'd say the P4 is already Intel's high end CPU for PCs.

Or were you focused on performance, rather than marketing position?

Regards,

Dan

Re: "(it was originally listed as POR -- "Per OEM Request")"

POR in Intelspeak means "Plan of Record"

Re: "By the way, do you see it as a possibility that Intel might lower the size of the cache (to 128KB, for instance) of the P4 when they adapt it to the "Celeron" end of the market? At 130nm, the die savings would not be too huge, but it'd be greater than zero"

I don't know what they'll do for the Celeron version of P4. I know Intel is claiming their .13u SRAM cell is the smallest in the industry(so far). We'll see.
