We are fortunate to even be in the position to sit behind our keyboards and ponder what we may "allow" government to do, as if it were a personal pet of some kind. Few people in history have been in any position to look at it with that perspective. One other point: the idea of permanent incarceration is, also in bland's view, a pipedream. When bland last heard, there were still seven murderous escaped convicts at large in the state of Texas, and they have killed at least one person since their escape.
