NAR receives additional Nova Scotia drill results

NAR Resources Ltd NRL

Wed 31 Jan 2001 News Release
Mr. George Elliott reports
The company has received analytical results for an additional 13 holes from
its 64-hole deep drill program recently completed on its titanium bearing
heavy mineral sand deposit located near Truro, N.S. The deposit extends
approximately 69 square kilometres (27 square miles) along the Shubenacadie
River northward to the eastern reaches of Cobequid Bay. Results of the
initial 20 drill holes, which covered Sandbar one and five, were announced
in Stockwatch Jan. 22, 2000.
Sonic Soil Sampling Inc. of Concord, Ont., conducted the phase one drill
program. The drill plan, which was plotted and supervised by Canadian
Seabed Research Ltd. (CSRL) of Porter Lake, N.S., was based on the positive
interpretation of the previously completed seismic survey and the 395
shallow drill holes (refer to the press release in Stockwatch Aug. 23,
2000). Drill holes were not numbered and completed in chronological
sequence, but rather locations were predetermined by CSRL based on
interpretation of the aforementioned seismic results. Assaying and
analytical work was completed at the laboratory of Daltech (Dalhousie
Technical University) in Halifax, N.S. Half the core from each of drill
hole has been kept for future archival reference.
The five holes, listed below, were drilled to test the extent of
mineralization to depth of sandbar 2 (SB2), which comprises an area of
850,000 square metres (1,062,500 square yards). The centre of SB2 is
located 2.5 kilometres south of the centre of SB1. The average drill depth
for the holes was 6.91 metres (22.7 feet), with the shallowest penetrating
5.21 metres (17 feet) and the deepest penetrating 10.01 metres (32.8 feet).

Hole Depth Grade: % heavy
No. (m) minerals (avg

BH-10 0 - 6.20 1.65

BH-23 0 - 6.20 1.53

BH-24 0 - 10.01 1.92

BH-37 0 - 5.21 3.33

The following eight holes were drilled to test sandbar 4 (SB4), which
measures 1.01 million square metres (1,262,500 square yards). The centre of
SB4 is located five km south of the centre of SB1 and 2.5 km north of the
centre of SB5 respectively. The average drill hole depth was 6.82 m (22.4
feet), with the shallowest penetrating 3.66 metres (12 feet) and the
deepest penetrating 9.39 metres (30.8 feet).

Hole Depth Grade: % heavy

BH-12 0 - 5.95 1.99

BH-13 0 - 5.67 2.32

BH-14 0 - 9.39 1.93

BH-15 0 - 8.00 1.15

BH-16 0 - 3.66 3.08

BH-39 0 - 8.56 1.42

BH-41 0 - 7.38 2.72

BH-42 0 - 5.98 4.89

Over all, analytical results on the 33 deep holes indicate that the drill
core is continuously mineralized throughout its entirety. As well, the
trend of increasing grade as the deposit is traced southward (as noted in
the press release in Stockwatch Jan. 22, 2001) has been validated by
results of SB2 and SB4.
The company is satisfied that the results to date compare well with those
of other producers. Mineral sand operators in Australia, South Africa and
the United States are producing concentrates from sands with heavy mineral
content ranging from 1 to 4 per cent on average (source: Mineral Sands
Annual Review). The analytical results on the remaining drill holes will be
released once completed. Locations of all 64 deep drill hole locations,
which have been plotted on an aerial photograph of the property conducted
by Atlantic Air Survey of Dartmouth, N.S., May 1999, can be obtained by
