I'm a diver as well, and can vouch for Cozumel. Quite interesting diving in 3 knot currents with the dive boat drifting along above you (screws turning no less!).

But, I think the focus of the party would be on meeting the cyber-personalities. I'd come provided either place is relatively cheap & easy.

On another topic - potential war with China. I find it quite interesting that the issue has resurfaced on both the Yahoo RIG board and here.

Last year when China was rumored to be building an SPR I thought that could only be for one reason - a hedge for military action. They are more than aware of the fact that in WWII the US starved Japan of oil from the East Indies via destroying their tankers with submarines. Any possible move on Taiwan would require a reserve of oil as they know our first action would be to cut off their oil flow.

I got a kick out of that crackpot analyst that a little while ago was saying there was up to a 100 million bbl surplus in China - and it would find it's way to the US thereby crashing our prices. Only the US under a dumb administration would be foolish enough to give away their SPR to foreign powers. But, I do admire the guy's moxy for trying to pass off such a lame spin on an issue that may have a very important role to play in any possible conflict.
