Siebel Earnings Jump As Revenues More Than Double

SAN MATEO, Calif. (Reuters) - Customer relationship management
software maker Siebel Systems Inc. (NasdaqNM:SEBL - news), on
Tuesday beat Wall Street fourth-quarter earning estimates as
revenue increased 111 percent.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31, San Mateo, Calif. company posted
pro forma net income of 20 cents per share, or $106 million, to beat
analysts' average forecast of 15 cents per share, according to First
Call/Thomson Financial.

The results surpassed performance in the year-ago quarter, when the company posted pro-forma
earnings of $39.2 million, or 8 cents per share.

Total revenue at the fast-growing provider of software products that automate sales, marketing
and customer service grew to $581.6 million from $275.9 million in the year-ago quarter.

Siebel has outperformed the S&P500 by a widening margin since October 1999. The stock
gained 395 percent in 1999, 61 percent last year and a further 15 percent since the start of this
year. Shares finished 55/64 higher at $78-31/64 in Tuesday's regular session.
