ben, i live in so-cal and the cost is DEFINITELY being passed to the consumers. perhaps not *all* the cost, but an awful lot of the cost. my bill is double or triple last year. i'm using a bit more gas due to being under the weather for about a month, but not 100% or 200% more than last year... nor even close.

btw, some restaurants are adding an energy "fee" to each bill...
