Actually I have. Mostly with boards on my feet.

But the environment is a different discussion.

The extraction processes are not nearly as intrusive as they used to be fwiw. Additionally, I would note that DOE and the National Forest service have acknowledged that we can extract oil and gas in environmentally friendly ways in many of the areas not allowed.

Dear Kenneth: I think you issued an oxymoron..."driven" "pristine". Has it occurred to you that to DRIVE you generally need gasoline and those oil derricks is where that stuff comes from. I am a very involved OFFROADER myself. I belong to "Tread Lightly" and drive on many of the Jeep Jamborees. I have driven off road on many jeep trails in the Rockies and actually crossed the continental Divide several times in one day once. I believe that Nature is for man to enjoy, does little good to have it if we cant enjoy it. What is needed is responsability in utilizing our resources. Careful planning, severe fines for failures etc etc. I think it can be done if we WANT TO DO IT RIGHT. JDN
